Where to go Pumpkin Picking in & around Rutland

One of the things I really look forward to around this time of year is pumpkin picking! It's become an annual day out for my family and friends and where we would load up the cars with our wellies, hats and gloves for the first time in a while and enjoy an afternoon out in the countryside picking pumpkins!

But this year, it'll be a little different and the farms of Rutland (and surrounding areas) have come out in style to make our Autumnal 2020 dreams come true with some pumpkin patches on our doorstep!

I went pumpkin picking with my Instagram pals, Sallyanne (@RutlandGirlFashionStyle), Chet (@ChilliesandClothes) and Nikki & Penny (@StyleintheStix).

I've put together a list of where you can enjoy a day out with the family this October and plan in some social distancing family fun around local pumpkin patches in the area.

Happy Picking!

Stonelodge Farm's pumpkin patch is new for 2020 and sounds like the perfect day out for the family. Located near Tilton on the Hill, the farm has gone to town with plans for this Halloween season with a family photographer, homegrown produce for sales, pumpkin carving, hay bail climbing, face and nail painting as well as food and refreshments!

Open from 17th to 31st October from 10:00am to 4:00pm (Closed on 26th October)

Located in between Uppingham and Oakham near Brook & Braunston you'll find Rutland Pumpkin Patch! Free entry and free parking is available while you enjoy a session of pumpkin picking with the family with pumpkins from only £1! Hot refreshment are also available on site.

General Admission: Open 17-18 October and 22 - 31st October from 10am to 3pm - Please BOOK: Two sessions to choose from 10:00 - 12:00* and 13:00 - 15:00. SEN/Quiet times: 22nd - 23rd October 10:00 - 12:00* slot will have fewer available tickets to enable specific SEN/Quiet times.

3. Sacrewell Farm 'SCAREwell', Peterborough - PE8 6HJ

The Halloween fun has nearly begun at Sacrewell Farm! This year SCAREwell has something for everyone with chocolate making, spooky mill walk and of course, pumpkin picking - and apparently, the patch is GIANT!

Open from 24th – 1st November 2020

4. Hill Top Farm, Chesterton, Peterborough - PE7 3UA

Usually an all-year-round PYO farm, in October Hill Top Farm gets in the Halloween spirit with its huge pumpkin patches! Although, due to a poor crop this year the pumpkins are unavailable to PYO - but there is still loads to choose from with ready picked pumpkins to enjoy! Plus, while you're there you can grab a coffee, play on the play areas and grab the rest of your fruit and veg too! Open Tuesdays to Sundays 10:00am to 5:00pm

Pop down to West Lodge Farm Park (book online) and collect your Pumpkin Passport on arrival! Choose a pumpkin from their Pumpkin patch, head over to the carving barn where they say you can 'scoop at all of the mess and leave the rubbish' for them - perfect! West Lodge Farm Park is a fun-filled day out for all the family over the border towards Kettering.

Open 17th October - November 1st 2020

6. Tallington 'Spooktastic' Halloween Event - Tallington - PE9 4RJ Tallington Farm Shop is hosting it's very own Halloween 'Spooktastic' event this year with everything from a pumpkin hunt, pumpkin carving, spooky meals, toffee apples and fancy dress competition too!
