What to expect from Christmas in Uppingham 2021 | Thursday 2nd December 2021

With only days to go until Christmas in Uppingham begins, I wanted to share with you some sneak previews of what to expect from this year's Late Night Shopping event on Thursday 2nd December from 5:30 pm until 9:00 pm.

The team of Christmas in Uppingham volunteer organisers and Uppingham Town Partnership have been hard at work for months to bring this popular festive evening to life and it's fair to say, Christmas in Uppingham 2021 is going to be one to remember...

This year's event brings lots of new entertainment and activities to enjoy with fun for all the family with non-stop entertainment from 5:30 pm and into the evening.

There is something for everyone this year with Uppingham's shops open until 9:00 pm as well as lots of street entertainment with the Christmas light switch on from 5:30 pm, real life reindeer, local school and adult choirs, Rob Persani with Rutland & Stamford Sound and to top it all off, Santa's coming! Only if he isn't too busy of course.

Head into the Church rooms and you'll find children's activities, such as crafting, face painting, and... Santa's Grotto!

Also new for 2021 is two FREE families activities including; Find the Elves of Uppingham and Write & Post a Letter to Santa.

How many elves of Uppingham are there? That's the question! Join the elf hunt this Thursday from 5:30 pm.

Download and print our elf map here and see if you and your family can find the elves of Uppingham's hidden in the shop window displays. But how many are there? You'll have to count! All will be revealed on the Christmas in Uppingham Facebook Page on Friday 3rd December 2021.

This year, we're lucky enough to have Santa's North Pole Post Box visiting for the evening so your children can write their letter to Santa (download and print off here) and bring it with them on the evening and post it in the North Pole post box ready for speedy delivery to Santa's workshop just in time for Christmas.

But don't panic if you forget your elf map or your letter to Santa, they'll be printouts ready and waiting in participating shops just in case you forget to bring yours in all the excitement.

Christmas in Uppingham also delivers the ultimate Christmas shopping experience with High Street shops open until 9:00 pm as well as market stalls of food, drink, craft, gift, homewares, and much, much more.

Uppingham Town Hall will be full of craft and gift stalls for you to start - or finish! - your Christmas shopping by shopping small and supporting the local business this Christmas.
