A Visit to: March House Farm’s Brand New 170m Slip & Slide | One of the UK’s Longest Family Water Slides for Summer 2026

Some attractions instantly become a summer bucket list activity, and March House Farm’s brand new 170m Slip & Slide is definitely one of them.

Located just outside Melton Mowbray in the beautiful Leicestershire countryside, less than 15 minutes from Rutland, March House Farm has launched one of the longest slip and slides in the UK for Summer 2026, and we couldn’t wait to give it a go. We headed over this weekend, and it’s safe to say we had an absolute ball.

What makes it even more special is that March House Farm is a working family farm. While the spectacular 170m Slip & Slide is this summer’s newest attraction, there’s so much more waiting once you arrive. Meet the animals, explore the maze, bounce on the huge tractor bouncy castle complete with its own mini obstacle course, discover the giant indoor sandpit and hop on the ride-on tractors, which Stanley absolutely loved. It feels like a proper countryside day out rather than simply turning up for one activity.

If you’re looking for family days out near Rutland, things to do in Leicestershire this summer, or somewhere both children and adults will genuinely enjoy, this deserves a place on your summer bucket list.

At an incredible 170 metres long, the slide is enormous.

Standing at the top, you quickly realise just how far you’re about to travel before launching yourself downhill. Whether you’re racing your family, laughing all the way down or simply trying to stay facing forwards, it’s one of those attractions that has everyone smiling before they’ve even reached the bottom.

What we loved most is that there isn’t just one way to enjoy it.

You can ride on one of the large inflatable rubber rings, grab a bodyboard for a faster ride, or simply throw yourself down the slide without either, just like a traditional slip and slide.

Even better, there’s no weight limit, making it something children, teenagers and adults can all enjoy together.

It’s definitely not just for the children. Adults are absolutely encouraged to join in too.

One of the questions we’ve already been asked is whether the March House Farm Slip & Slide is suitable for toddlers and younger children. The answer is yes.

The attraction has been designed for all ages, with children under four simply needing to ride with an adult. That makes it a brilliant family activity everyone can enjoy together.

Stanley absolutely loved it and couldn’t wait to climb back to the top for another go.

Each session lasts one full hour, giving you unlimited rides during your allocated time slot.

A lot of thought has gone into making the experience as easy as possible. Simply book online, arrive, collect your wristband, get changed in the changing tents, listen to the quick induction and safety briefing, and you’re ready to slide.

If you don’t own a wetsuit, don’t worry.

Wetsuits are available to borrow completely free of charge, helping keep everyone comfortable throughout their session.

You can ride barefoot, wear your own swim shoes or purchase specially designed Slip & Slide socks before heading to the top.

It means there’s very little you need to bring other than your swimwear, a towel and plenty of enthusiasm.

Although the giant water slide is the headline attraction this summer, it’s only one part of what makes March House Farm such a fantastic family day out. We actually spent hours there.

Stanley was completely obsessed with what might genuinely be the biggest inflatable bouncy castle we’ve ever seen, but that’s just the beginning.

There’s also farm animals, ride-on tractors, a giant maze, a huge indoor sandpit, outdoor play areas, delicious food and drink, and one of the best farm shops we’ve visited locally.

It means that even if some members of your group aren’t spending the entire hour on the slide, there’s still plenty to see and do.

March House Farm really feels like somewhere you can spend the whole day rather than simply arriving for one activity.

One of the reasons we think this is going to become one of the most popular family attractions near Rutland this summer is the value for money.

Slip & Slide sessions are affordably priced, making them an accessible activity for families looking for something a little different during the school holidays.

Considering each session lasts a full hour with unlimited rides, we thought it offered excellent value compared with many other summer holiday attractions.

What also impressed us is that March House Farm isn’t just somewhere to visit during the summer holidays.

As a working family farm, they host seasonal events and family experiences throughout the year, giving you plenty of reasons to return.

Whether you’re visiting for the brand new Slip & Slide, spending time with the animals, exploring the play areas or popping into the farm shop, it’s easy to see why so many families come back again and again.
