If you're looking for somewhere a little different for a Christmas get-together this year, Cosy Club in Stamford is well worth putting on your festive radar. I was recently invited to Cosy Club Stamford's Christmas Menu Showcase, where I got the chance to sample a selection of the dishes on offer and get a taste of what to expect from the restaurant this festive season.

We also got to hear more about the different dining packages available, including options for Christmas parties, work celebrations and larger group bookings.

Tucked away on Horseshoe Lane in the heart of Stamford, the restaurant has fun decor and a relaxed atmosphere, making it a great spot for everything from a casual lunch to a special evening out.

While Christmas is certainly a big part of the offering at this time of year, Cosy Club isn't just somewhere to visit for a festive meal. There are menus running throughout the day; you can visit for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, with plenty of choice depending on when you visit. If you're not feeling in a festive menu mood, other menus run alongside the festive options with dedicated vegan and gluten-free options, as well as a children's menu, meaning there is something for everyone.

So whether you're planning a family meal, meeting friends for lunch or heading into town for dinner, Cosy Club offers plenty of flexibility.

Christmas, however, is a particularly tempting time to visit, with the Christmas menu available from 18th November and a selection of festive options designed for everything from a casual Christmas lunch to a full-on festive celebration.

One of the biggest attractions for groups is the private dining space, which comes complete with its own bar. It can accommodate up to 60 guests for buffet-style dining or 32 guests for seated dining, making it particularly suitable for Christmas work parties and larger celebrations.

The private space can also be used for other celebrations and group occasions throughout the year.

For those wanting the full Christmas party experience, the Gold Dining Package is priced at £75 per person and offers a three-course festive dining experience. Guests are welcomed with a Prosecco reception before enjoying warm monkey bread and Nocellara olives, followed by three courses of Christmas indulgence, with a choice of main and dessert. Freshly brewed tea or coffee is included, along with half a bottle of house wine per person, while premium wine can be added for an additional £10 per person.

For a more relaxed and sociable celebration, the Sharing Buffet is priced at £27.95 per person. It features a generous selection including Asian buttermilk fried chicken, flat iron steak, crispy fried halloumi, whipped feta and roasted squash, red onion tagine, Middle Eastern tabbouleh salad, Caesar salad, panko butterflied king prawns, Vietnamese fried cauliflower, skin-on fries and Iraqi laffa flatbread. To finish, there's warm monkey bread, dark chocolate mousse and Sicilian lemon sorbet.

There is also a Festive Nibbles option at £17.95 per person, which could be ideal for a Christmas drinks party or a more informal gathering where guests can graze rather than sit down for a full meal. The selection includes Asian fried chicken, sun-dried tomato and olive bruschetta, fried halloumi, homemade sausage rolls, panko butterflied king prawns, crispy cauliflower, twice-cooked crispy potato skins and dark chocolate mousse.

For an additional £4 per person, four extra dishes can be added, with options including chorizo, mozzarella and ricotta arancini, smoked salmon crostini and Sicilian lemon sorbet.

For those choosing the Christmas dining menu, the meal begins with a sharing platter featuring Asian buttermilk fried chicken, Norfolk smoked salmon rillettes, pigs in blankets, forest mushroom arancini, stuffed sweet peppers and panko-coated butterflied prawns. It's a generous combination of festive favourites alongside some of the more globally inspired flavours that Cosy Club is known for.

For the main course, diners can choose between The Cosy Christmas Pie, mustard-glazed pork belly, herb-crumbed fillet of salmon or maple-glazed butternut squash Wellington. The latter provides a substantial vegetarian option, while the Christmas pie and pork belly bring plenty of traditional festive comfort.

Dessert might prove to be the hardest decision, with Christmas pudding, a festive white truffle bombe, brûléed miso caramel custard tart, coconut and lime panna cotta, dark chocolate mousse and a Christmas cheese plate all on offer. The Christmas dining menu offers a choice of sharing starters, with guests able to choose between two or three courses and select their preferred main and dessert.

Of course, no Christmas celebration is complete without something in the glass, and Cosy Club has several drink packages available. The Prosecco package costs £100 for three bottles, making it ideal for toasting and keeping the bubbles flowing throughout the celebration. The wine package is also £100 and includes five bottles of house wine, with a mix of red, white or rosé, while the beer package costs £50 for ten bottles of beer, chilled and ready to go.

Drink tokens offer another convenient option for groups. Tipple Tokens cost £7 each and can be exchanged for a 175ml glass of house wine, a glass of Prosecco, selected pints and bottles or soft drinks. For those wanting something a little more celebratory, Cocktail Tokens cost £8.50 each and can be redeemed for a Passionfruit Martini, Espresso Martini, Mango Colada or Amaretto Sour.

There's plenty to enjoy outside of the Christmas offering too. Cosy Club is designed as an all-day venue, and the menu choices mean that a group doesn't necessarily have to settle on one particular style of dining, which is especially useful when catering for different tastes and dietary requirements.

Whether you're planning a full Christmas party in the private dining space, a relaxed meal with friends, an office celebration or simply some festive drinks and nibbles, there are packages to suit different styles and budgets.

With the Christmas menu arriving from 18th November, it looks like a good excuse to start the festive season a little early.
