Ruth Page from Great Easton has officially opened her new shop on Mill St in Oakham and yesterday, I visited the VIP launch party (joined by familiar faces such as Rutland & Stamford Sound's Rob Persani and Rutland & Melton's MP Alicia Kearns) to take a look around, to show my support to Ruth and the other female business owners with businesses featured within the shop - let's explore!
Mango & The Moon is open to the public today (Saturday 11th February) from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm where you can discover all of the wonderful homeware, giftware, jewellery, toys, clothes and more - also the new home of popular 'The Happy Little Pop-Up Shop' formerly of Church St in Oakham.
Ruth was born in Newcastle-Under-Lyme and studied Fashion Management with Marketing at Nottingham Trent University. With a background in the fashion business working for big British brands such as French Connection and Burberry before residing in the Leicestershire countryside with her family, Ruth set up Mango & The Moon in 2021.
The story of Mango & The Moon began over 25 years ago when Ruth's career in fashion led to travel throughout Europe and Asia which sparked a lifelong love for 'artisan crafts and fabrics as well as an enduring passion for India, its culture and its people'.
Mango & The Moon create 'luxurious soft furnishings and homeware which celebrates the fusion of uplifting colours, intricate patterns and beautiful textures' where 'British designs meet the spirit of India'.
Mango & The Moon is also the new home of 'The Happy Little Pop-Up Shop' which closed last year on Church Street in Oakham and Ruth wanted to bring the brands within the pop-up shop with her on her new journey to Mill Street, making Mango & The Moon a one-stop-shop for home, gift, jewellery, textile, candle, toys and more as it becomes home to local brands such as; My Noodle Bug, Kate Please, Bombaby, Hausmade, Little Print Gifts, Olive & Wallis and Zany Pig.
Ruth invites you to the grand opening of Mango & The Moon on Saturday 11th February from 10:00 am at 10a Mill Street, Oakham to explore the shop for yourself.
