Christmas #ShopLocal Gift Guide: Under £150

It's time for the final pre-Christmas instalment of my 2020 Christmas Gift Guides with a guide for all budgets (Max £150) for last-minute #ShopLocal gifts before Christmas.

Lucy Wade is a talented young artist based in Rutland who's able to create the most stunning realistic watercolour (portraits from £50) or pastel (portraits from £130) portraits your pets. Lucy recently gifted me a portrait (I can't share details as it's a gift for a loved one this Christmas) and I can honestly say she's captured the animal perfectly, so perfectly, it made me emotional.

Katie's wonderful vintage fashion store Honeykins Vintage on Mill St in Oakham is full of quality vintage clothing and accessories, including this stunning raffia bag at only £35!

Launched in 2020, Sew Ab Fab are a local dressmaking kit company based in Rutland offering kits for sewing lovers of all abilities. The Soho Coat would make a wonderful gift for any crafty-creative this Christmas, but there are many other options too for women, men and teenagers.

One of my favourite pieces of art in my home is my Rutland Map by Katie Cardew. Katie is a local artist with the most wonderful style and her local map collections are definitely some of my favourites of her work.

Bijou Box is a Rutland based subscription box company owned by Louise, who like me, is passionate about support small, local and independent businesses. Bijou Boxes feature just that and includes eco-friendly and cruelty-free products from local businesses and would make a wonderful gift idea all year round!


Brentingby Gin is based just outside Melton Mowbray in the village of Brentingby and is my favourite gin in the world. Bruce and the team at Brentingby Gin design and create many collections and limited edition bottles of their gin and their wildlife edition is a special one (which would make the most wonderful gift!) as it features the stunning artwork of a hedgehog family by @hilary.mayes - an artist based in St Ives in Cornwall.
