This weekend it's time to celebrate Easter and the bank holiday. I thought I'd collect together the things that are going on in and around Rutland over the bank holiday weekend to give you an idea of what you and your family could get up to.



What's on in Rutland: EASTER

Walk of Witness

14th April - Good Friday

From: 10:30am

At: St John and St Anne Almshouse, Oakham

From the Chapel of St John & St Anne at Westgate/St Anne's Close, through the town to the Market Square, culminating in a short ecumenical service at the Buttercross.

14th April - Good Friday

From: 7.30pm

At: Memorial Hall, Uppingham School

The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain conducted by Braamwell Tovey will give a concert at Uppingham School and are sure to thrill the audience.

13th, 14th, 15th, 16th & 17th April

At: the Grainstore Brewery, Oakham

Returning in 2017 is our new Craft Lager Festival, but this year with a twist! All live bands will be Tributes to some of the finest acts out there.

Appearing over the weekend are:

Friday 14th April, 8.30pm – Sticky Fingers, A tribute to the wonderful Rolling Stones.

Saturday 15th April, 2.30pm – Outlaw Eagles, A tribute to the Legends that are The Eagles.

Saturday 15th April, 8.30pm – Maximum Jam, A tribute to the one and only Jam!

Sunday 16th April, 8.30pm – Pure Magic, A tribute to the late great Freddie Mercury along with Brian May.

Five days celebrating the biggest growing sector in the UK drinks market, with live music and great food served all weekend. Over 30 craft lagers all on tap.

Easter at Rockingham Castle

16th April Easter Sunday & 17th April Easter Monday

From: 12:00am

At: Rockingham Castle

Come along to the annual children’s Easter Hunt (tokens in exchange for eggs) and family quiz which takes place in the beautiful Castle Gardens. Alongside this there will be the infamous Wentworth’s quiz. A fun filled family outing for the Easter weekend. 12 noon – 5pm.

Easter Sunday & Monday at Rockingham Castle

Sunday 16th and Monday 17st April - Easter Sunday & Bank Holiday Monday

Event & Castle: Adults £13.50, Children £9.50 & Family ticket (2+2) £36.50.

Event only: Adults £12.00, Children £7 & Family ticket (2+2) £31.00.

16th April Easter Sunday & 17th April Easter Monday

From: 8:30am

At: Kelmarsh Hall & Gardens, NN6 9LY

The Kelmarsh Country Show returns on the 16th & 17th April 2017, celebrating the countryside at its best and will once again grace the beautiful grounds of Kelmarsh Hall, offering the perfect weekend get-a-away for field sports enthusiasts and families.

With World Class sporting competitions, plenty of have a go opportunities, over 200 exhibition stands, live musical entertainment, traditional rural crafts, craft, food and antiques marquees and lots and lots to keep the kids entertained, the Kelmarsh Country Show is a must anyone looking for a day out in the countryside.

Fun for all the family, come and join us at the Kelmarsh Country Show in 2017!

At: Bill's Bar Oakham

Local lads two and fro take over the Bills bar dancefloor on Easter Sunday! Great eclectic song choice and so much energy.  Join Jordon and Marcus for an awesome night of live music
