As a dog owner, I'm always searching for dog-friendly pubs around the area that we can visits with friends and family after a walk or somewhere we can go where we don't have to leave our pooch home alone.
Meet our Pug, Arla.
I thought I can't be the only Rutlander forever searching for dog friendly pubs, I thought it was the perfect time to share which pubs in and around Rutland are doggy friendly!
The George & Dragon, Seaton
Another pub I have visited for many years is the G&D in Seaton and recently renovated (2017). The bar area is very dog-friendly where you can eat and drink and it's lovely to sit in the beer garden or out the front admiring the village in the sunnier months. The G&D was actually the place we first took our families Cocker Spaniel puppies for their first outing.
The Exeter Arms, Barrowden
Growing up in Harringworth and with my grandparents living in Barrowden I have visited The Exeter Arms many times. Last year the Wade family took over the pub, who are also from Barrowden. The large beer garden, bar and outdoor bench make it a perfect spot for you and your pooch in this spring and summer months.
The Marquess of Exeter, Lyddington
A beautiful village pub in Lyddington and very dog-friendly with many seating and dining areas. I personally love to sit by the fire in the winter and outside the front of the pub in the summer months admiring the stunning village.
The Lord Nelson, Oakham
Nestled in the corner of Oakham's market place, The Lord Nelson is a real hidden treasure. Very dog friendly with treat tins too, The Nelson is a rustic pub with great food and a great feel. It's one of our favourite places to visit.
The Vaults, Uppingham
Uppingham's popular pub, The Vaults is a lovely place to take your dog as you can sit in the bar, on stools, tables or even in front of the fire on a cosy sofa. The Vaults is very dog friendly and the atmosphere on the weekends especially is lovely.
The Olive Branch, Clipsham
I've only visited The Olive Branch once a few years ago however it is many of my friends top choice for food around the area, I'm also told it's very dog friendly too.
The Grainstore, Oakham
A very popular choice in Oakham, The Grainstore is named one of the best brew pubs in Britain. It's also dog friendly and has regular live music events too.
The White Horse, Empingham
Close to Rutland Water, The White Horse says you can pop in with your walking boots and your dog to enjoy food, good company and fine ales.
The Kings Arms, Wing
A traditional country pub in one of Rutland's picturesque villages is very dog friendly and has a bar, restaurant, accommodation and function facilities.Â
The Toby Norris, Stamford
Another pub outside of Rutland with great food, real ales, fine wine and all in a 13th century building. It's one of my favourite pubs to visit if I'm in Stamford and it's dog friendly too.
Horse & Jockey, Manton
Very close to Rutland Water the Horse & Jockey is a popular stop for the attractions visitors. It's also an award winning pub with flagstone floors, open fires and doggy friendly.
The Fox, North Luffenham
A traditional country pub in the heart of one of Rutland's villages and was voted CAMRA Pub of the year 2016 & 2017 and your dog can enjoy the pub with you in the bar, restaurant and lounge.
The Crown, Uppingham
Nestled in the heart of the beautiful market town of Rutland you'll find The Crown! Which allows our four legged friend in all hours.
The Coach House Inn, South Luffenham
On your way to or from Stamford, you could pop into The Coach House. A traditional pub with great ales and lovely outdoor seating for you and your dog in the summer months.
