Uppingham is Open for Business

As Rutland's high street begins to open it's door again after months of closure due to COVID-19, the sun is shining and the #ShopLocal shoppers are out in force supporting our independent businesses today.

#ShopLocal banners from Love Uppingham scatter the town encouraging visitors to 'enjoy our town'.

I took a stroll around Uppingham this afternoon and it was wonderful to see so many doors open again with all the safety measures and social distancing regulations in place so we can begin to restart the local economy, supporting local businesses and encouraging #ShopLocal.

Whilst FREE parking has been extended in both Uppingham & Oakham, Rutland County Council has also created a helpful website called 'Rutland Welcomes You' where you can find everything you need to know about shopping in Oakham and Uppingham safely from 15th June including a map and search function to see which individual businesses are currently open.

"Uppingham Town Council, working with Rutland County Council, has put a range of temporary measures in place to ensure the safety of shoppers and staff as people are welcomed back to the high streets. Businesses have also introduced measures to keep you safe in-store." - Rutland Welcomes You (www.rutlandwelcomesyou.co.uk)
