There’s something unmistakably magical about arriving at Burghley House's Christmas Fair in late November, welcomed by twinkling fairy lights as the historic grounds transform into one of the area's most spectacular festive fairs. Honestly, I think it might be my favourite year yet.

From the moment I stepped through the gates, Christmas spirit was everywhere with rows upon rows of stalls offering everything from handmade gifts to artisan treats. It’s one of those places where you can pick up thoughtful presents and soak up the seasonal atmosphere at the same time.
There was a few exciting new additions for 2025, a brand new layout, the new pavillion, marshmallow toasting and the drone show too. Burghley certainly delivered and evelevated their already wonderful sell-out experience.
One of the joys of the Burghley Christmas Fair is discovering (and re-discovering) brilliant small businesses. I loved catching up with some familiar faces and long-time favourites: AVMS At, Bettie Browns Boutique, Mallard Point, Stamford Notebooks, Bellboo Art, Scandi Coffee Co and Frackleface.
It’s always special to see how these local creatives bring their festive collections to life each year.
I also came across some fantastic new-to-me businesses that I’ll absolutely be keeping an eye on: Rugby Distillery, Ohlala Fies, Tweed Mill Textiles, Saffron Grange Vineyard and Yaus Food.
The mix of food, drink, clothing, gifting, textiles, home fragrance and artisan craft is genuinely one of the reasons this fair stands out so much. There really is something for everyone, from little stocking fillers to unique finds you won’t get online.
If you’re looking for a festive day out filled with atmosphere, shopping, food, entertainment, and the backdrop of one of the most iconic houses in England, the Burghley Christmas Fair is a must-visit. Definitely keep an eye out for the 2026 dates and be ready to add to your calendar.
I’ll absolutely be returning next year. See you there!
