Uppingham's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

Platinum Jubilee in Uppingham 2nd - 5th June 2022

We’re looking forward to the long bank holiday during which we can celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

WHAT'S ON? From May: Enjoy an AR (augmented reality) experience around Uppingham High Street, follow The Beacon Trail. Children and enthusiastic adults can meet characters from Buckingham Palace and have their photo taken.

Spot the vinyl decals in windows around the location and scan the unique QR codes to collect digital stamps, see the characters come to life, engage with the story, and answer questions. Once you've collected all 7 stamps you will be rewarded with the conclusion to the adventure and be able to take selfies with digital prize badges ‘pinned’ to them, to share with your friends.

Thursday 2nd June: Our Town Crier will proclaim the Jubilee! The Church Bells will ring from 6 pm.   From 8:00pm there will be a celebration on Tod's Piece, with music and the lighting of the Beacon at 9:45pm. Bring your picnic and a chair or rug to sit on.

Friday 3rd June: Festival day for many. Is your favourite pub in Uppingham hosting an event? Let us know!

Saturday 4th June: The BBC will broadcast from the Party in The Palace. Will it be on in your pub? Invite your friends round and watch it together!

Sunday 5th June: Services of Thanksgiving at our churches, including 10.45 at the Parish Church in the Market Square.

The Big Lunch! Gather your friends and neighbours together and have a big picnic or street party. Free packs of advice and ideas are available.
