Stamford Showstoppers have the pleasure of Bringing you a totally different Musical in the form of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and they can’t wait to share this exciting family Musical. They have come straight off the back of their last 3 years of productions in this theatre, Chicago (2020), Cats (2021), Priscilla Queen of the Desert (2022), Sparkling Eyes (2022) Footloose (2022) and can’t believe their luck of being able to put on another exciting Musical. They are also very proud to have won Best Musical in the Noda East Awards for Cats in 2021 and are keeping everything crossed for their productions in 2022’s awards – due May 2023.
So Chitty, Written by the Famous James Bond Writer Ian Flemming was originally a family favourite film released in 1968. Eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts, his two children, and his beautiful lady friend, Truly Scrumptious, go on a picnic at the beach in their Car Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, A Transformed beautiful working machine which was named Chitty Chitty Bang Bang by the loud noise its engine makes, made from pieces of Junk scattered around their home, they are soon whisked into a magical world of pirates, and castles. In the adventure that ensues, they journey to Vulgaria and encounter the evil tyrant Baron Bomburst and his child-hating wife, who kidnap Potts’ children and steal Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. With the assistance of the kindly village toymaker, Potts plans an elaborate scheme to rescue the kidnapped children and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang from the Baron’s castle on his birthday. But do they succeed? Do they return home? you will have to come and join Showstoppers to Find out.
